Hole/Sketch Update Bug

I use a sketch to drive hole patterns.   When I change the sketch, the hole does not move with the sketch that it was placed on.

Can you export and upload the f3d file, I just tried a test and it works for me so you'll probably need to share the file to find out what's going on.

Thanks Mark

One thought, are you in direct edit mode, for this to work you need record history on.

I'm not sure how you are building that component, but I just did a quick test and it seems to work. See the below screencast for more detail on the approach.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

Hi!

I have a similar issue, that the hole feature does not update, according to the sketched feature.

This is my timeline> sketch>hole>pattern. Sketched circle positioned 30 deg with a distance from centre (xyz-0).

To move the hole, I must edit the hole, deselect and select the new position...

Is it a bug or this I how it works? If so, I suggest you do something about it, right now it is more work, and as in my case I almost missed it, due to the fact I had to change the distance from 13.5mm to 13.46mm, to match the other components circular pattern.

Can you attach the file that exhibits this behavior?

Is the unexpected behavior limited to this one file, or can you reproduce the problem in a simple dummy file example?

Just want to check, you do have the timeline active and was it active when you created the hole feature? You haven't switched between history and direct modeling at any point or working inside a Base Feature?

I might have found what you've done, did you select a face then a point and use the At Point(single hole) option? If you select a sketch point you should use the multiple option and it'll update. Unfortunately you can't edit an existing hole feature and change to multiple so you'll have to delete and recreate. I've attached a file with 2 hole feature to demonstrate one will update if you edit the sketch the other doesn't.
