dxf/svg via inkscape loses it's smooth geometry and distorts from original

I have great success with projecting a canvas and manually sketching lines, splines, arcs and points. Bring that to cam and boom! It's gorgeous. Take's quite a bit of time to produce with that technique.
I see videos of people using Inkscape to produce dxf and svg files of images, follow known procedures, it works but when I insert dxf or svg, the image goes from smooth round curves to sharp segments that don't represent the original image. What could be causing this issue? I open the dxf/svg in inkscape and looks great, insert into fusion 360 and gets all sharp cornered, distorted. Windows 10, laptop computer, and I get the graphics card prompt that it may not be optimal. Am I missing some type of settings, or is it my hardware, or could it be the way I save the file in inkscape? Could it be my wife complaining in the other room disturbing the delicate geometry of the svg/dxf? How do I get the accurate scaleable vector graphic to be the way I left it in inkscape?
