Design of a cage-like

Hello, please to be shown how I could design something like the photo I have attached, only the figures-like support minus the ring. Thank you.

I would do this as:

  1. one extrude for the base cylinder
  2. one extrude for one of the gear teeth inside the cylinder
  3. pattern the gear tooth (optimized or face pattern) to get the rest of the gear teeth
  4. one sweep to get one of the curved beams at the top
  5. pattern the sweep to get the rest of them
  6. one more cylindrical extrude to get the smaller cylinder at the top

I gather you want the cage. 

 

I would revolve a sketch.

Then sketch a spoke and extrude intersect.

Then circular pattern the bodies.

Then combine the bodies.
