Copy and Pasting Bodies into other Designs?

Screen Shot 2017-11-11 at 2.19.31 PM.pngDuring past experiences with Fusion 360, I have a had an issue of not being able to copy and paste objects from a design into a component which exists in another design. I have discovered that this can be accomplished by not capturing the design history however, when capturing design history, the paste button wouldn't show. I know that other users have come across this problem and re-installed Fusion 360; I have tried many times and didn't manage to get it to work.Screen Shot 2017-11-11 at 2.19.12 PM.png

Yes, this is correct.  You can only copy/paste bodies between Direct Modeling designs.  This capability is not available between history-based (parametric) designs.  Copying parametric features between documents is a complex operation (features can reference geometry from other features, etc), and so is not supported in Fusion.  You can, however, use Save Copy As on a component, which will save a copy of just that component to a new design, and that can be inserted into any design.

Thank you very much for your answer; this technique did work and I will surely consider using it as an excellent approach in future projects.
