Hi there,

I need help with creating a cylinder with a cone inside.

Referrring to the attached image the following need to be connected.

Rail 1  + Rail 3

Rail 2 + Rail 4

the bits between 1 and 2 + 3 and 4 should ideally be solid.

Very new to this so any help would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Nick

As you have already created the profile sketches, you can use the loft option to do so. select create, loft option. it will prompt for 2 profiles select the profiles needed. body will be created and hit ok you are done.

Inside/Outside Profile Loft must be done in two steps.

1 to 3 Join.

2 to 4 Cut.

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here if you can't figure it out.

Why don't you just use a Revolve instead of a Loft?

And if you want to make sure the new bit you create becomes one solid with the existing bit, then make sure you are working in the same Component, and make sure the Join option is selected within the Revolve palette.
