Hi
How do I get the BOM balloon to reference the Sub-assy level instead of at the component (part) level?
The BOM balloon for the 'metalwork' sub-assy should be the same as the item number in the BOM which is (3).
However the BOM balloon is showing (7) which is the item number of a component (part) in the sub-assy.
Thanks,
Hi,
Thanks for posting and sorry for your situation.
I tried replicate your model / drawing pattern but i couldn't reproduce the issue which you are mentioning.
Is it possible to attach your model here or share directly to me at keshava.gopalakrishnaiah@autodesk.com

Hi Ben,
my issue looks slightly different to yours but it does appear to be a few unresolved bugs in Fusion BOM.
Hi mpjunkmail,
Keshava is on vocation today and tomorrow. Let me try to answer your question.
I can reproduce your issue with following steps:
1. create a storyboard view in the drawing.
2. add balloons and parts list in the drawing.
3. suppress all other components expect the subassembly. notice that parts list and the balloon number on the subassembly are updated. (in your case, the subassembly's balloon number becomes 7)
4. unsuppress all components. Notice that the parts list is updated correctly. But the subassembly's balloon number is not updated, which is a issue.
The issue is known to us. We will fix it together when we start a project to support parts list hierachy in Fusion drawing.
The current workaround is to renumber the balloon number using "Renumber" command.
(Please let me know if the issue in your drawing has different workflow as what I described. )
Regards
