Hi All,

I''m new to formit but everything I have seen so far seems a lot better thank sketch up but I use modelling softwares for Urban Design layouts. Does anyone know of any good tutorials / videos showing modelling layouts?

Many thanks

Tom

Hi Tom - Not sure what you mean by modeling layouts - many ways I can interpret that!

- Here's a FormIt Friday webinar where we talked about topography and site context - sourced from Dynamo in Revit, and brought into FormIt

https://formit.autodesk.com/blog/post/working-with-topography

- Here's a nice little tutorial with lots of modeling, massing, and dynamo workflows - https://formit.autodesk.com/blog/post/december-2016-formit-friday

Let me know if this is along the lines of what you're thinking - or completely off!

Thanks,

Tobias

Also - this FormIt Primer is a perfect way to get started with the software - a quick 2 hour introduction to the basics!

Tobias,

Thank you for the links.  My area of interest is urban design and placemaking.  I am presently exploring methods and resources for "GIS-like" import to FormIt as a layer or foundation from which to proceed in urban design.  I recall doing something like this in a fairly kludgy way, starting with google earth and sketchup, then exporting elevation countours into Rhino ... what a hack.  Have you looked at this, and if so, is there a tutorial that might point the way?

Thanks very much,

Chuck
