Solar Analysis in FormIt

Please tell me the procedure to conduct solar analysis in FormIt.

Haneen,

The Solar Analysis is part of the Pro subscription - not the free app. Assuming you have Pro (either by purchasing or for free via Education Portal) you can access the Solar Analysis feature by clicking the "Sun" icon in tool bar. I hope this helps!

Hi Laura,

Have you tried re-launching Solar Analysis after seeing this message? It should work after seeing the message the first time.

Otherwise, can you share the file with us? Or let us know what geolocation the file is set to?

Hi the solar analysis still doesn't work...

I kind of gave up..

The location is in Auckland, NZ.

Hi Laura,

I wasn't able to open the AXM you linked to. Maybe the upload didn't fully complete? FormIt isn't able to read that file in. 

Either way, I tested setting the location to Auckland, NZ, and am seeing the same behavior in the Windows app: it says it's downloading the data, and to try again, but trying again results in the same message. 

I tried the same in our Web app, and it says that no Weather Station data was found for that location, but that it's going to use sample data instead. We'll look into this - if nothing else, maybe Windows can support same "sample data" workflow so you're not stuck seeing the same message repeatedly, and can start the analysis process.

Have you tried your file in Web for Solar Analysis? If you want to give it a shot: app.formit.autodesk.com
