Material Samples not loading

I've downloaded the latest version (2021), restarted and opened as administrator, but I am still unable to get material samples to load. The website says they will download from the Autodesk cloud and it looks like it's trying to download but I left the program running for over 30 minutes and nothing downloaded. I have an education account - would this be the reason it's not working as expected?

Hi Melissa,

Sorry about this. We're investigating.

In the meantime, you can try:

• Close FormIt
• In Windows explorer, navigate to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\FormIt (you may have to enable hidden files and folders to see ProgramData)
• Delete the SampleMaterialsCache folder, and any .db files with a series of numbers and letters outside the SampleMaterialsCache folder
• Launch FormIt, and try accessing the Material Samples directory again - if it works, you should click on every category folder, to force them to download in this session. This should prevent the issue from happening again.

Let us know if this helps, and we'll keep looking into the root problem.

We just released a new version of FormIt for Windows which addresses the issue with accessing Material Samples. You can get the new version directly from our website, or from the Autodesk Desktop App.
