Mass Floors not showing up

Not applicable

I built the mass in Formit and added levels.

Used the new 2016 converter

When I brought it into revit I can not get the mass floors to activate.  It shows that levels 1-4 are selected but wont cut them in the mass.

I also noticed the 3d levels were not alligned to the mass, they were off to the side and did not include the mass.  I corrected that and still no luck at getting the Mass floors to show.

Any help?

PS I'm new to Formit not new to Revit, we are trying to convince the principles to drop sketchup

Hello John! Welcome aboard and we salute your mission! Happy to help out.

From the sound of it - you've got some non-manifold geometry that is causing the Revit import to appear as a mesh and not a solid. You can see any non-manifold issues in FormIt by enabling the 'Display Watertight Issues' setting under model diagnostics.

If you're willing to share your file I can help debug it a bit. I'll Direct Message you to set up a secure box folder where you can share you file.

Thanks for posting!

Tobias

Hello Yasser, Tough to tell without reviewing the file - but if you select the Mass... check the ribbon - is there a 'yellow triangle warning' icon? This would indicate that you have a 'non-manifold' (non-watertight or non-solid) geometry - and mass floors won't apply to this. You'll have to remodel it - or investigate why it is non-manifold.

If you don't see the error - then it's possible you haven't applied mass floors to the mass yet... in which case you'd select the mass, see an icon at the end of the ribbon about Mass Floors. Click this and select all of the Revit levels you want to apply to the Mass (note, you need to have Revit levels first!).

Hope this helps,

Tobias

Hello! May I ask what is the difference between a mesh and a solid? I was thinking of the void tool and i thought that this might be the thing why some cannot be voided. Thank you so much in advance!
