Layer hidden within Formit doesn't import to Revit

Hello

I have some layers hidden (like a sketch layer). As far as I was told, layes within Formit is mostly for visibility categorization. When I have a layer turned off, and import it into Revit, it will not import. Is there a way to "turn on" Formit layers FROM Revit, without going to the Formit file and turning it on?

Could you also LINK Formit, instead of IMPORTING Formit?

Hi Kyle,

When converting FormIt to Revit, what you see is what you get. You'll need to open the FormIt file and enable the visibility of whatever Layers you want to convert to Revit, then save the file and convert it. This is useful for those who store multiple design options in FormIt, but don't want all of the design options to appear on top of each other when the file is converted to Revit.

You could also toggle the FormIt Layer visibility how you want it to appear when converted, then use File > Save As or File > Export to create a new FormIt file specifically for converting to Revit, if you don't want these new visibility settings to be saved to the current file.

Currently you cannot link FormIt files in Revit, you can only convert the geometry through the FormIt for Revit Add-In. Thanks for the feedback, we'll record this in our system.

Hi @Anonymous,

Your requests here should be addressed with FormIt 2023, which was released last week.

In particular, we've added FormIt linking support in Revit, you now have separate visibility and "Send to Revit" controls from FormIt, and you can control FormIt layer visibility from Revit

Enjoy!
