@rawezh What version of Revit are you using?

@rawezh

As the FormIt AXM file is an imported CAD family in Revit 2024, have you enabled the "Enable Cutting in View" instance parameter of the imported model?

More information here: CAD Linking/Importing File Support (What's New in 2023)

Sorry, didn't realise you mentioned having enabled this in your message.

Are you saying in the screen capture that the "enable cutting in view" is not working for the front windows as well as the plane region in the rear?

Would you mind sharing the AXM model for me to test it independently?

@rawezh

I've tested the problem with a sample FormIt and Revit 2024 project and can confirm that the addition of a plan region to a Revit plan view doesn't seem to work.

My test also shows the effect on CAD linking a DWG, SAT and revit families version simultaneously. Here are some screen captures of this sample building:

Sample building.jpg

Linked files with no plan region, the windows and door on the bottom elevation showing as expected when the cut in view parameter is selected.

Linked CAD no plan region.jpg
The effect of adding an overlapping plan region has different effects depending on the source geometry:

Linked CAD plan region overlap.jpg

 The Revit Families and DWG link work as expected, with the AXM link showing an un-cut version (without the roof!) and the SAT link disappearing all together!

When the plan region is moved off the geometry:

Linked CAD plan region no-overlap.jpg

 The SAT link returns but the AXM link stays the same.

A temporary workaround would therefore be to export your AXM to a DWG, and link that file origin to origin.

The plan region seems to work fine with that format.

Hope this helps,

I am unable to find the conversation thread in the Revit Ideas forum, searching for key words such as "plan region", "FormIt" aren't able to locate it nor does it seem to be associated to your user name.

Could you post a link to the ideas thread to facilitate upvoting be people who have found this thread?

Thank you,
