Form It export

Hello,

I am having trouble exporting the formit sketch to revit or autodesk 360. Microsoft Edge only allows me to export an stl file and an obj file. The form it axm file doesn't export or if it does - no browsing location is selected. Where is the default form it folder where things get exported locally?

Thanks,
Ina

Ina,

I am sorry you are having trouble. The RVT is created automatically every time you save. Log into your A360 Drive: https://myhub.autodesk360.com/portal/folders/?drive=nitrous and navigate to the FormIt folder. You should see a RVT for each FormIt AXM file (it can take a few minutes for the RVT file to appear, depending on how big it is.) Hope this helps!

Thank you for your response, but that is my problem- no rvt file is created. That is why I am trying to find the axm file so I can import it directly from Revit. Is there a workaround for not having an automatic Revit file being created?

Thank you again!
Ina

I see. Sometimes, there can be aspects of a FormIt file that would make an RVT creation fail. Can you find the AXM file? If so, you can use the FormIt Converter Revit Addin to manually convert the AXM file: http://formit360.autodesk.com/blog/formit-converter/

Yes I've installed the converter but can't find the axm file. Do you know where I should look?

I see that the Export Locally buttons are not working in the Edge browser. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, I will file this. In the meantime, can you install Chrome or Firefox?  Also, the AXM file should be in the FormIt subfolder inside your A360 drive: https://myhub.autodesk360.com/portal/folders/?drive=nitrous

Ok, I tried with windows explorer but they don't appear to be compatible as well. I will have to install chrome; also the axm file is not under the 360 form it folder (probably Windows edge again). I think chrome will solve the problem- thank you again for your help!!!
