Failed to import FormIt file

Recently having issues importing or exports FormIt files with Revit 2022. When importing (using Import CAD) Revit loads the file selected then throws a warning messages saying "Failed to import FormIt file". This was working before I had applied the latest 22.1.3 hotfix to Revit. I also cannot export to FormIt from Revit either. In this case using the 3D Sketch tool asks which Revit objects to export then fails to export.

Sorry to hear this. We're checking with the Revit team and will get back to you. 

In the meantime, can you confirm this is happening to every FormIt model, even one as simple as a primitive cube with nothing else in the sketch? Otherwise, if there is a specific model that's failing to import, we'd appreciate it if you shared that model with us as we investigate.

Can you tell us exactly what version of Revit you were running before the update occurred and this connection stopped working?

We've determined that something might be amiss with the 2022.1.3 Revit patch, which caused this issue.

To get this working again:

• Uninstall Revit 2022
• Install Revit 2022.1.3 directly (instead of applying the 2022.1.3 patch as before)

Would you mind letting us know if this fixes the FormIt connection for you?

Reinstalled Revit 2022 which failed to include the latest patch. Tried importing a simple FormIt file into a new model and received the same "Failed to import FormIt file" error message. After installing the latest patch for Revit 22.1.3, Revit is still failing to import or export FormIt files.

@josh.goldstein Reinstalled Revit 2022 with the latest hotfix included in the install package. I am still unable to import / export FormIt files from Revit.

Sorry that didn't work. We're working on a potential solution involving some downloadable files that should fix this.

@HStroven_MPS we've got a workaround for the patch that broke the FormIt-Revit connection:

• Make sure you've updated to the Revit 2022.1.3 hotfix
• Download these two files:
  • https://revit.downloads.autodesk.com/download/2022RVT_RTM/media/formit-fix/22_1_3/axm_producer.dll
  • https://revit.downloads.autodesk.com/download/2022RVT_RTM/media/formit-fix/22_1_3/axm_consumer.dll
• In Windows Explorer, go to: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\FormIt Converter for Revit 2022
• Optionally copy these two files to another location like your desktop to make a backup:
  • axm_producer.dll
  • axm_consumer.dll
• Copy the newly-downloaded .dll files from the links above into the FormIt Converter for Revit 2022 folder, replacing axm_producer.dll and axm_consumer.dll

We'll be updating the release notes for the Revit 2022.1.3 hotfix to include this solution as well.

@josh.goldstein Replacing those .dll files with the new ones provide worked. I'm able to push and pull info between Revit and FormIt again. Thanks for you help.
