I am converting my Revit project to FormIt by using FormIt Add-in. Since I am using Revit 2016 but it first upgrade the file from Revit 2015 to Revit 2016. Then it takes a lot of time and in the end it shows the message that conversion is not successful. go to log file for more data . (Result: Conversion from RFA to AXMF is PARTIALLY FAILED).
Can you please help me in this regard. Revit model is very simple

Hi Najam - Happy to help out. The first thing I would recommend is... go to FormIt and turn on Display Watertight issues (DW keyboard shortcut) anything that is 'not water tight' will show up as red. This is an indication of why a FormIt to Revit conversion would fail.

If you'd like my help diagnosing further, I'll follow up with a link to a box folder where you can send your file to us. Happy to try and help!

Thanks,

Tobias

Hello - I misunderstood your question - Sorry about that.

The Revit Add-in command that converts RFA to AXM only does RFA files that are saved on your C: drive (or A360 drive). And it only works on a few categories (furniture, generic, mass, specialty equipment, etc...). This command does not work with System families like Walls, Floors, etc...

It sounds like you want to convert your Revit file - or portions of your Revit file to FormIt - to do this you'll need to prepare a 3D view with just certain elements visible - then go to the app menu, Export, CAD Formats, and choose ACIS SAT. This will make an SAT file of the visible geometry - and you can open or import this to FormIt (this is how you get walls, curtain walls, floors, doors, railings, etc into FormIt currently)

The converter revit to formit still not stable. .if you convert to SAT file..the problem is the object became as one group..all your layers n level is not shown in formit..hard to selects individual components. .becoz its seems hv been exploded become individual faces..

This converter is a failure. .I think autodesk should design in a such way that runs and connected software together ..but not as an individual software.
