ADVISORY: Dell Backup + Recovery may cause application crash

Hello FormIt community,

We recently discovered that Dell Backup + Recovery may cause FormIt (and other apps) to crash when trying to open a file.

We recommend you uninstall Dell Backup + Recovery to solve this. For more detailed info see this Dell Community post where the issue is being discussed: http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3526/t/19634253

We apologize if anyone has experienced a FormIt crash due to this issue.

Good news! It appears Dell has corrected this problem in the latest version of Dell Backup and Recovery (1.9.x).

For anyone seeing FormIt crashes on a Dell system, you can try downloading the latest version of Dell Backup and Recovery here: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GX7TX

Hi sood896,

Can you confirm whether you've tried updating or uninstalling the Dell Backup + Recovery application?

Also, it looks like you're using a slightly outdated version of FormIt (v16.0). The latest is v16.1 that's available from our website. Can you try downloading and installing v16.1? It has many reliability enhancements and other fixes you'll want: https://formit.autodesk.com/page/download

sood896,

I reached out to you via DM. If you're not using Dell Backup and Recovery, your crash may not be related to this post and we'd like to look into it further.

Thanks,

In my particular model i.e. dell XPS L502x dual graphics card was the
cause. On using the integrated graphic card it was not running. But on
forcing the Nvidia it started to work normally.
