Hi! Is there any way to delete a project from a hub?

It is not possible to delete it outright, but you can archive it. To do this go to your projects page (https://app.autodeskforma.com/projects), hover on a project and find the menu with the three-dot icon, the select Archive.

Thanks for reply and tips! yes, we can archive it, but how about all the small test projects? we want to be able to delete them. We don't to archive all the test and exercise projects.

I understand the need and will make sure to share it with the team. Without going too much into technicalities, the reason why an "obvious" feature like that doesn't exist at the moment has to do with how data is organized e.g. every bit of analysis is stored in a different place, so it takes work to ensure everything is actually deleted. We also have an obligation to keep track of data orders, how map data is used etc., which makes it delicate in some areas. I am not looking to make an excuse, I just thought it might provide a bit of useful context 🙂

A part solution to the clutter issue at the moment is our new Home page, where your recent projects show on top. The idea behind that page is both to show useful tips and tricks, but also to avoid people having to look for needles in a hay stack on the Projects page, by surfacing the most relevant stuff first.

By the way, a tip from another customer is to make a Bin folder, which could be named _Bin to make it stay on top, and put all these test projects there. It's a hack, but I know it has worked well for many.

Curious about this 'hack'.

That "_Bin" folder, is it like a 'Hub', or how can one create such a folder when one can only have one hub?

At this point, you might want to consider adding some kind of warning when you create a project that it can't be deleted. Many people are probably start with testing Forma. And I'm sure that much of them are a bit confused by the inability to delete the project after testing. If I, personally, had known from the beginning that a project could not be deleted, I would not have created so many test projects.

Appreciate your feedback Maxim, it's a valid point. On the side of this, we are working on a method to automatically delete data for privacy concerns, and based on this I am certain we will be able to get a Delete Project feature in place at some point, though I recognize that for some people things could get messy in the meantime.

On this note, would you say the need to delete projects is more about keeping the shared Hub clean for yourself or others, or is it more about sanitizing for past client relations, expired or cancelled projects etc.?
Where I am going is whether we could meet most of the need by rewiring the UX around the Archive feature we have in place, or if we indeed need something more thorough 🤔 Keen to hear any additional thoughts.
