Cumulative Sun Hours or Shadow analysis

Hello there, I wonder if there would be a possibility to have Cumulative Sun Hours or Shadow analysis process.
Most clients/designers want to see which spot will never or always get sun during the year. That means that having that data for just one day is not sufficient. 
The point is really about adding all the days and getting the dark areas and the bright areas.

Hello! Thank you for reaching out.
If you care about the minimum or maximum exposure, I would recommend you to run a sun hours simulation on the winter and summer solstices (depending on location, it should be around December 21-22 for winter and June 20-21 for summer), so that you can get both extremes in between which you will get a range for your site's results.
However, in regards with interpretation of results, you are right: it may be easier to inspect results based on a cumulative analysis based on a date range. This would be a slightly different analysis though. This sounds like a great idea, also I am taking good note of your feature request and will report it internally.

There are also possible workflows using the DynamoForma package in Dynamo for sun analysis. You can check out this forum post for more details on how these workflows are set up. With Dynamo, you can gain more control over how the data is represented for specific timeframes.

Hi, you are right, analyzing just a single day does not give the full picture. Most tools allow you to simulate sun exposure over weeks or months to identify areas that are consistently bright or shaded just like unitv apk. You might want to check if your software supports annual or seasonal sun studies, as that will provide the complete data your clients need.

Our software ? You mean Forma ? Yes I am checking right now and I am proposing right now to implement this functionality because it's much more useful.
