Form to Revit import issues

while in Forma I convert a basic building into a 3D Sketch for some shaping of the form, then when I export it to Revit it comes in as a 3D sketch mass family which shows floors and the geometry surfaces but is completely not able to be used as a reference to build floors from even though the mass shows levels and floors on import.  Why once any standard building in Forma is in any way edited in 3D sketch is it completely not able to translate to Revit family objects or even be snapped to to build from scratch and use it as a reference?

Hi @tp7000. I understand the frustration here, however the 3D Sketch buildings uses the kernel from Formit and has an entirely different data structure from other building types in Forma. It means that while they appear to be the same kind of buildings as say a Basic Building, just with whatever more fluid design choices you apply to them, they actually share almost none of the same data.

Ideally, they'd be alike or even the same, of course, but the nature of the more fluid designs allowed by 3D Sketch has a lot of challenges when it comes to analysis, a core value for Forma, and so we have decided to maintain different types with their own trade offs.

The addin for Revit, as you experienced, is only able to carry these 3D Sketch buildings as a mesh, loosing their other properties on the way. As of now, we don't have a path to resolve this particular issue I am affraid.
