Microclimate and wind analysis still can't be tied to a pre defined site or zone

Hello all, there is still a major UX problem.

Microclimate and wind analysis still can't be tied to a pre defined site or zone, only custom circle and radius, which are not easily reproducible. Is there a reason that we can't tie these analysis to a pre defined circle, maybe something specific, zone for wind and climate ? 

Please advise

Edit:, I must have been something wrong, it's working now, it just centers the custom circle inside your boundary when you select it.

- First of all, why a circle?
The circle shape is intentional. Wind and microclimate analyses depend on all directions simultaneously — we compute 8 wind directions and simplify the resulting octagon into a circle. So while it may feel limiting, it reflects how the physics actually works under the hood.

- Now, if I understand your request correctly, the real issue isn't the shape itself, but the ability to reuse the same area consistently across analyses.
Good news: you can already do this today using site limits and zones.

When you select one or more existing site limits as your analysis area (the same way you would for other analysis types), the circle is automatically centered on that site limit. This means:

• No manual repositioning each time
• Consistent placement across analyses
• A reproducible setup tied to your project geometry

That being said, I am taking good note of request for a more straight forward way to persist placement of custom circles for wind and microclimate analyses. We'll keep it in mind for future improvements.

Hello there, this is not true, I just tried it again. The Custom circle does not position itself in the center when you select a zone or a site limit, it would be nice but it's just not the case currently.

This seem strange, indeed. I have tried to replicate on several of my projects but could not, so it seems that there may be a problem specific to your proposal.
