Specifications - Export feature

Specifications - Export feature

Love the newest module, Specifications, however we would like the ability to export it in a clean format, just like other ACC modules offer.  Please add ASAP.

Thank you!

Yes. We need that.

Hi - adding my agreement to EricaBouma's original request. An export option that packages specifications into either a single PDF or multiple PDFs is a need.

Must have!!! It's insane how long it takes us to download these individually.

One more vote for this! We have over 100 spec sections on our latest project.

I'm voting for this too. Over a year later and it is still not a feature. Takes too long to download each spec individually.

Definitely A must have. Not sure why this wouldn't be an option.

Hi ACC

This idea is open only for 1 year and 6 months. Any update?

Is it really that difficult to add export function to specifications?

I really appreciate clear communication and cutting though the layers of ACC teams that you are talking so much lately!!!

Better start working as well!!!

Hi,

Being able to extract a file log to see what we have within this section will be useful for the team it will allow team members to have an overview on what we have in this section. It allows us to export file log from other sections which work perfectly if this section allowed this too it will be very useful.

Yes, we need to be able to export a specifications log similar to the plan log and the files log.  I'm surprised they haven't added this yet.  Side note - also need ability to add mark ups to specifications, similar to how you can markup files.

Totally agree! Similar vein, need to be able to add Specifications to the Handover package!

This is no doubt a must-have! How are we supposed to use Pype Closeout (an Autodesk product as of 2020) if we can't export a pdf of the most current specifications at the end of a job when you have multiple newer versions of dozens of different spec sections?

This is a needed feature to keep specs up to date with any ASI or CCD changes.

Bumping this thread. OP posted 19 months ago and the feature is still needed.

Thanks. I don't know why it is taking so long for them to roll that feature out. Seems like an easy thing to do.

AGREED!!

This is something that is still needed and was originally requested almost 2 years.  Please provide an ETA on the resolution or feedback as to why it cannot be achieved.

Hi everyone, I'm the PM for the Specifications tool and I absolutely agree this is a must have and I am working on getting into our roadmap plans. Thank you for the feedback!

We have over 200 pages in our spec book for a project and we just got a revision to 30% of the pages.  Its great we can upload the revised specs but it would be great if we could use a compare tool and export to pdf tool as you can in sheets.  I don't understand why Autodesk wouldn't do the same for specs as they do for sheets unless their just doing a cash grab to make you subscribe the the Autospecs tool.

Hi geoffrJ2LUC - thanks for the feedback. Comparing revisions across specification documents is an important workflow, especially on projects with hundreds of pages and large revision sets like the one you described. Rest assured that aligning Specs & Sheets functionality is major part of the ongoing Specs roadmap.

I also want to address the assumption that features are intentionally withheld to drive subscriptions to say, that's not how we prioritize features. We have many requests across different workflows, and we have to make tradeoffs about where we invest engineering effort. Features like document comparison and high-quality PDF export can seem straightforward from the outside, but building them in a way that's reliable, performant, and maintainable takes significant development and testing.

We appreciate hearing where the gaps are because that feedback helps us prioritize future work. While I can't make any promises about timing, this is useful context for the team.
