Scope of Work field needs updating

When issuing contracts, the Scope of Work field is too limited in:

1. It's outline capability.  We need more than just 1, 2, 3, etc.  We often push out in the outline to subcategories.

2. It's format capability.  If we cut and paste from a trade partner quote, the font on the contract is HUGE.  A format painter option would be gold.

As much as I love the cost management feature, this has made our contracts look somewhat jenky.  Currently, you have to open the doc, click EDIT, make the changes, close, wait for the document to update, then re-merge the Document Package to correct something that Microsoft has done for decades.  The only other option is to re-type the whole thing so the native formatting looks correct.

Hello @Christine_Armstrong

Unfortunately easier said than done. We can't use Microsoft Word's format so it's difficult to avoid compatibility differences. Even Microsoft's format isn't fully compatible between their desktop and web.

Will look in to our tool provider and see if any enhancements have been released since we last updated.

Re the outline, do you mean like this? You can do that now

PS, no need to crowd source votes from colleagues 😉

@ian_turner - I don't need it to work exactly like Microsoft or Word. We copy from PDFs via Bluebeam, etc.  I would just like something that allows me to make the SOW section look the same as the rest of the contract, which is not available at this time and looks grossly out of proportion to the rest of the text.  We are a copy & paste world, after all.

How do you get to the outline you snipped above?  I do not see the option for indenting a, b, c. etc.

If I select the a. b. c. option above, it changes the whole list to that numbering sequence.

@Christine_Armstrong Indeed we are, but unfortunately still not in a world of not perfect compatibility. Will look and see if any new functions are available that could help.

Do you have an example PDF we could copy/paste from to take a look?

Here's how you indent

Thank you - that solves half my problem! I'll share with the rest.

@Christine_Armstrong

A problem shared really is a problem halved eh?
Our text editor tool does not have a format painter option but we’re exploring if we could add some magic

No promises but we like a challenge….
