Feature Request Watchers

Feature Request Watchers

Build out a page to "watch" or "follow" requests from start to finish so we know when that request goes live.  Would also be nice to add my own comments, such as ID number,  to match it up with some list I might be managing for a large company.

There is no "follow through" with this platform.

My requests or requests I up-vote cannot easily be recalled/viewed to check the status; they just go into the abyss.

My request/Request I choose to follow -> I become a watcher -> See it get however many votes -> Product accepts it (or doesn't) -> ADSK communicates where it is on the journey to becoming "live"

Start to finish; cradle to grave.

I agree with this completely. Managing these requests internally and on the Autodesk side has become tedious and borderline ineffective.

You can subscribe to Ideas in the top-right Options menu.

Idea statuses are updated to "Accepted" when they have been added to our internal roadmap and "Implemented" when they are released into the software.

You can track those features more in depth in the following ways:

Revit Public Roadmap - this shows the features that are currently in development as well as future plans. You can add your input to each of the features there, also.

Revit Preview Release - you can test the features currently in development, give feedback directly to our product teams, and be eligible to participate in Inside the Factory events.

Thanks @kimberly_fuhrman-jones.

How do I access all the things I've subscribed to?  I can find my own items under My community -> Contributions -> Ideas, but not the ones I've subscribed to.  I should be able to follow both mine and my subscribed/upvoted requests together.  And I would suggest making that site easily surfaceable, instead of burying it in another part of the website.

And are the Roadmap items "tied" or "connected" to these requests or are they decoupled?

Hi @sara.hendler ,

The subscriptions are kind of buried (an idea for the Community forums, not the Revit Ideas). If you click on your profile picture in the upper right, then select Forum Preferences, you can then find all of your subscriptions under Subscriptions and Notifications.

The features on the Roadmap are linked to Ideas, but only in that direction, not bidirectional, if that makes sense.

Hope that helps!
