In Autodesk Construction Cloud Docs, there used to be a system attribute called “Version added at”, which allowed users to sort files and versions chronologically based on the moment a version was actually added.
This attribute still exists technically and is visible in exports (Excel); however:
At the same time, the attribute “Version added by” is still available, which suggests that this metadata is still actively maintained.
In addition, there is currently a clear interference between “Last updated” and “create viewable”:
As a result, sorting by “Last updated” becomes unreliable for users who want to quickly identify the most recently added or genuinely updated documents.
Impact
Due to the absence of a reliable date-based attribute, end users can no longer easily identify recent additions or updates through sorting. This represents a noticeable regression in usability, particularly for document- and BIM-intensive workflows.
Additionally, users were unexpectedly forced to adjust their working methods without clear communication (silent release). This leads to confusion and unnecessary time loss, especially in professional environments where chronology and traceability are essential.
Suggestion
This would significantly improve usability and restore confidence in the sorting logic.
