Today, we announced a key step forward in our vision for a unified AECO industry cloud — Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is now Autodesk Forma, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Autodesk Forma as the AECO industry cloud.

👉 We encourage our community to read the full news article about the evolution of Autodesk Forma as the AECO industry cloud.

This change brings construction fully into Forma, helping connect planning, design, construction, and operations within a single environment. The focus is on improving continuity across the project lifecycle, so teams can work from shared data instead of disconnected files and carry better context from early decisions through to execution.

For customers, it’s a seamless transition. There’s no disruption to workflows, data, or licensing — just the added benefit of working within a more connected industry cloud.

Here on the Autodesk Community, the ACC Forums have transitioned to become the “Forma for Construction Forums”, where you can continue to ask questions, share updates, suggest ideas and connect with Autodesk teams on all topics related to construction tools within Autodesk Forma. We have also rebranded the current Forma Forums into the “Forma for Design Forums”, focusing on questions about design tools in the Forma industry cloud such as Forma Site Design & Forma Building Design.

Alongside these changes, we are continuing to expand Forma with new capabilities like enhanced jobsite tools, broader cloud collaboration, and integrated building workflows — all aimed at helping teams stay aligned and make more informed decisions.

Is this the third rename of Autodesk's cloud platform within a decade?

Spent 5 years getting people to adapt to ACC from BIM 360, and now they're changing it again.

Of course they’re just renaming the original Forma to push the new name.

It will be Forma Cloud or something in another 3 years.

The transition to Forma is not seamless at all, and calling it that is misleading.

To be specific, old IFC links stop working. Revit links still work when they use Autodesk Docs paths, but IFC-based workflows are broken. In mixed teams, it gets even worse: if one user is still on the old connector, the new Forma links can turn into a corrupted path string with a local user path and a Forma path appended together. That is not a smooth migration. That is broken behavior.

In our case, this already cost two hours with Autodesk Support, and the “fix” is to uninstall the connector, clean the cache, clean the Autodesk Docs folder, and install connector version 27. That is not an upgrade. It is a full cleanup and reinstall process.

This is exactly the kind of transition that shifts the cost of Autodesk’s internal product and marketing changes onto customers. It creates unnecessary labor, breaks established workflows, and wastes time that project teams cannot afford to lose.

When is Autodesk going to prioritize stability, backward compatibility, and customers’ time instead of rolling out changes that ignore how people actually work?

We started with plangrid and it was the best thing on the market... With Forma I can't even use the ACC Forma App on a brand new Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, I've chatted with teck support (worthless), I've emailed my sales person, and nothing but crickets.  It amazes me that with each acquisition the app has gotten more difficult to use and less reliable.  Currently it's absolutlely worthless to me... we're paying ten grand a year and I cannot even use it in the field when I'm away from my desk and it's like Forma does not even care.
