FlexSim 2025 Update 2 Model Background DWG Position Incorrect

FlexSim 2025 Update 2 Model Background DWG Position Incorrect

When I bring a DWG into FlexSim 25.2.0 and position the origin to 0,0,0 the upper left corner of the dwg is at the origin not the actual 0,0,0 of the DWG.

I tested the same dwg in Flexsim 25.0.1 and it works fine.

One interesting item is the DWG size in 25.0.1 is 1,1,1 which is what I would expect.

The DWG size in 25.2.0 is 60,36,0.04, which is odd because that is the size of the rectangle I drew, not the scale of the drawing. I tested with other DWGs and the size is always the extents of the DWG file.

I installed the Interop Module in 25.2.0, I wonder if that is related to this issue?

This is by design. The AdskInterop Module sizes and positions the Background object to fit the imported geometry. This resolves a common problem with importing DWG files where the actual data in the drawing is far away from the drawing's origin.

If you don't want your drawing to be scaled into the object's yellow box, you can reset its size and its shape factors to: { Position [0,0,0] Rotation [0,0,0] Size [1,1,1] }. If you do this, then the origin and geometry of the shape will be identical to the data from the file, without automatically fitting the geometry into the object's yellow box and automatically scaling the yellow box to the bounds of the geometry.

The image above shows how to get from the Model Background Properties window to the Shape Factors within the object's More Visuals window in order to make this change.

Thank you for your quick response! This helped me get the DWG positioned where I need.
