Operator Walking over physical objects

Hello,

In my model the Operators walk over pallet locations(queues) with boxes on it which is not realistic. I saw that we can add network nodes to the model. Is there any other way to make the operator not walk over a physical object? Adding network nodes seems like a extremely manual process for my model since I have 60 pallet locations between which an operator can walk.Global Table Model outside in.fsm

Hello @Adil M,

There are a few ways to define the navigation of the operators. Network nodes in an option. There is also the A star Navigation.

@Adil M, your operator walks over simulated virtual objects!

And in Astar you would add the objects in question so that they in effect become barriers.

I tried adding Astar to my model but I'm unable to connect it to my queues. I initially tried connecting it to the group palletposstions-it did not connect. I then manually tried to connect each pallet location to A* by pressing down on "A" and dragging from A* to pallet location, but that has not helped either. Is there some step I'm missing?Global Table Model outside in.fsm

Just add them as member objects in the Astar Properties in the Toolbox.

.. and make sure you task executers are using the Astar Navigator - check in the Task executer Properties:

You can select all the non-operator objects and add them all with a single 'A' drag connect too.

You can select all the operator objects and change the navigator to Astar for all of them just by changing one in the Properties panel. Since you're using offset travel for moving around the queues you'll want to set the option "Use navigator for offset travel" too.

Global Table Model outside in.fsmI added the queues as members and changed the task executer to A*- but the operators continue to walk over queues.

Hello @Adil M,

you can change the operators to use the navigator for offset travel.

I'm encountering a new error in the model now. The Operators have created a deadlock. Probably because 2 operators are trying to go in opposite directions through the same path. Is there a way to resolve this? Global Table Model outside in.fsm

Hello @Adil M,

You could solve this in a few ways. You could add in paths to make it so aisles are one directional. You can also change the sizing of the a star grid. To change it you select the grid bounds and then in the properties panel you can see the options to change it. I changed the gid size in the following model.
