how do I get an installer for 20.1.1?

Or do I need to? I'm running 20.1.0 on my computer. The clinic just recently upgraded to 20.1.1. I will be helping them with learning and using this new version. It seemed to me that it would be better if I have exactly the same version they have. I don't see that version available on the XM website.

Theoretically, they should always try to slide up to the latest "bug release" version within a given update. They are using update 1 which is good, because it is the latest update, but they are still on the first bug release of that update rather than the latest which is a 3 (20.1.3).

You can only download the latest bug release for a given update from our web site, but you can download earlier year and update versions by clicking the "Other Versions" button on your account Downloads page. If you instal 20.1.3 you will be able to help them with 20.1.1 even if they choose not to get the latest bug release.

That's the message you get when the software license has not been activated by the user. It's the message those who download the software and are using it as a trial version see.

Thanks for the information about the number system. That helps me understand the process better.

One problem we are having with the IT department at the Clinic is it is extremely busy. In addition to working with the special needs of the virus, such as changing out the kiosks, we have providers going to telemedicine. Also, with the required securities for healthcare information, IT has to vet every program very carefully to make sure it does not bring problems to patient information. So, frequent changes in the software makes it difficult for us to get the advantages of the latest versions.

But, enough of our problems.

I'll try to look at the significant changes from 20.1.1 to 20.1.3 to try to understand better what I'm facing. Would it be better to stay with 20.1.1 or go ahead with 20.1.3?

Take a look at the changes made in 20.1.2 and 20.1.3 and you decide if they're important for what you need. Because you won't be able to get a 20.1.1 download, you will need to leapfrog to 20.1.3. This shouldn't cause any problems in going back and forth between your 20.1.3 and their 20.1.1

Models saved in any bugfix version of a given feature release (like 20.1) are compatible with any other bugfix version of the same release.
