Hello,

I am programming a Mazak Vortex 5 axis mill. the problem is the first operation is using a 2 inch dia face mill at zero deg and when that operation is done i use the same face mill on the side of the part, the CNC code keeps the tool at zero degrees and it should rotate to 90 degrees on the next operation, anyone else have the same issue?

Hi @Anonymous

for create 5 axis toolpath you must set in the toolpath options the multiaxis properties.

See the attached immage.

Let me know if this helps you.

Francesco,

Thank you for the reply, its not a 5 axis tool path, i am going from B0 to B90 and the post doesnt want to do that, i thought i was missing a feature in the software but autodesk says as lon as my setups are pointing the right direction in the UCS the post should change the B axis.

Hi @Anonymous

creating a first setup (setup1) and then the next one rotated by 90 ° (setup2) where the feature is created, it is expected that the code has angles different from 0.
- does the post allow this?
- is activate in the stock the 5th-axis positioning?
- in the fixture location, the setup is 1?

Hi @Anonymous

I also think there is to verify the post processor.
If in CNC-info -> General, you have set the axes as in the image attached, you cannot write toolpaths in 5 axes positioning

the problem is on the Stock/indexing i have Z axis indexing turned on, so the tool wants to stay at Bzero or verticle no matter what i program next.i dont know how to turn of the Z axis indexing after the first operation, so i wait for a reply from autodesk.
