THREAD MILLING NPT THREADS

Hello all,

is there a way to thread mill NPT threads? Im programming for a 3 axis vertical mill.

Absolutely.

You can certainly thread mill NPT threads but you will have to conventional mill because there is a bug that puts out bad code if you try to climb cut.  I reported it in November 2017.... they haven't had time to fix it yet.

Does the code display bad in the machine?  I just tried to climb mill 1/4-18 NPT threads in the latest FCam 2020 upgrade that I have and it seems to work ok onscreen and within the text editor.

It also ran thru the graphics of the 3 axis mill here in the shop as well with no errors.  I just haven't actually cut a part with the program yet.

I am thread milling 1/8th N.P.T at the moment having no issues climb milling.
