Predrill error message makes no sense.

When doing a pocket using vortex and a predrill this message always comes up.

TSL07W - Pre-drill tool diameter is lareger than the tool selected for z roughing and the pre-drill may gouge.

I have a pocket, choose to predrill with a .266.  Roughing with a .250.  Get the above error and it will not predrill.  This happens no matter what size combination you try.  This makes no sense, of course its larger.

This gets frustrating when you can't predrill, and you can't work around it and drill in a separate op because you can't choose a plunge point with any NT/vortex paths, and if you do a spiral in an odd shaped pocket it wants to full slot at first to get an equal path to use.

I added a quick example.

No, that solves nothing.  As I've said and if you do that in an odd shaped pocket it full slots until it has a equal pocket to work with.

It also doesn't explain the error.

I've read a tag that,

Setting a plunge point for the pre-drill in a Vortex toolpath is not currently supported in FeatureCAM.

But even when I remove the pre-drill, I still can't get it to work without changing vortex to spiral milling.

Its just a message of a possible problem. If you know the drill wont gouge then just ignore it.

I see lots of warnings about tap depths verses drill depths. They are all just to get you to take a second look

before sending it to the machine.

 Hope that helped.

As stated, it's not just a warning, it refuses to do the predrill.

We've just added this to the list of "things that don't work and have to be worked around in FC".

My mistake, I didn't read all the way through.
I was on the forum because the predrill didn't carry over when I created a pattern. It only drilled the first event of the pattern. Then I ran across your comment.
Sorry I wasn't of help to you.
