FeatureCAM 2018 Released

FeatureCAM 2018 has now been released. You should be able to find it in your Autodesk Desktop Application. If it is not visible there then you should be able to access it from your Autodesk account page here.  

The main features of FeatureCAM 2018 are:

• Ribbon interface - UX design improvements
• Automatic angle for parallel finishing
• Automatic 3+2 positioning
• Swiss synchronization
• Spiral toolpath improvements
• Laser machining (with PartMaker in FeatureCAM Ultimate)
• Keyway broaching (with PartMaker in FeatureCAM Ultimate) 
• Workflow improvements (with PartMaker in FeatureCAM Ultimate)

You will also find that by turning off all of the windows glitzy ****zy stuff your PC will run faster.

And we should also go back to riding horse and buggy to work?
if windows transparency is slowing your pc down then you seriously need an upgrade .
the glitzy stuff as you put it barely uses any resources on a semi modern PC.even a 5 year old graphics card wont even notice any performance issues between transparency being on or off.
my gaming rig at home runs twin GTX 1080 nvidea graphics cards....and i still have issues with featurecam 2018 becuase it has grey text on a grey background.compared to 2017 which had darker text on a WHITE background.
And when your staring at it all day the eyestrain of trying to read the text and picking out icons that all look the same faded washed out colors it is not pleasant.

Is this version solid now?  I just put in a ticket to our I.T. department to upgrade but after reading these posts I'm apprehensive.   Any new feed back would be wonderful.  Thank you!

Do not need to be worried. Is already running. Do not you do the updates yourself? Strive for it, so you can make changes faster and test functions at the same time. Should be so. IT can not reconstruct special functions like you do. I think so. Or? Greeting Mathias Beyer
Musst nicht besorgt sein. Läuft schon. Machst du die Aktualisierungen nicht selber? Bemühe dich darum, so kannst du schneller Veränderung vor nehmen und gleichzeitig Funktionen testen. Sollte schon so sein. Den die IT kann spezielle Funktionen doch nicht so rekonstruieren wie du. Denke ich. Oder? Gruß Mathias Beyer
