Chain face selection for side features

I'm spoilt having used Inventor for so long & I'm used to being able to chain select edges and face.

In FC, can I chain select faces when selecting for side features.

The process is a little different in FeatureCAM. Instead of chaining edges, you can select horizontal or vertical faces to define the boundary of any feature, including a side feature. Additionally, there are a couple of additional options with feature recognition to 'chain' profiles in a more customized sense.

Check out this article showing the use of the 'Select side surfaces' method. This method happens to be my personal preference when using IFR, and should help you out with your situation. If you have a specific part and a specific feature you would like to recognize, I would be happy to throw together a short video explaining.

Great video but it doesn't answer my question.

The point is that you have to select all surfaces separately at the moment. (possibly missing out small slivers).

I was asking about chain selecting faces (or edges) as you can do with most other Autodesk software.

Perhaps chain selection can be added to the ideastation for FC (if there is one).

As I mentioned, FC just doesn't really operate in the exact same way as the other products. What I mentioned is what I personally find to be the most convenient option within the software. It is not the same method that you find in Fusion, etc. however, I personally find that once you get a good handle on the Feature Recognition options in FC, the entire process becomes extremely easy to use and quick to program.

If you really want to deep dive and understand, you honestly might consider just creating a support ticket and jumping on a web session with one of our FC specialists to detail the process on one of your own parts.

There is an option to chain exact curves within the feature recognition wizard. This option creates geometry on all edges and projects it to the XY plane for you to chain however you would like. Not identical to how Fusion, etc. does it but will allow you to 'chain' edges.
