Hi there, I'm currently messing around with nCloth and am having some issues with exporting it. I go through all of the steps in order to correctly export it, but when I do, I get the same error that says that the materials weren't able to be exported, and the corrects version of the object does not export. I wanted to see if there's something I'm doing wrong, as I've never worked with nCloth before and am not really sure what I'm doing. Thanks in advance!
Yeah, this one is tricky. nCloth sim's can be complex. It sounds like you've done everything right, but sometimes it helps to have someone else break down the steps.
:
Make sure that you have selected both the nCloth object and the nCloth shape node when you export the object. You can do this by selecting both objects in the Outliner or the 3D Viewport, and then exporting the selection.
Check the export settings to make sure that you are exporting all necessary object data, including materials and textures. In the "Export Selection" dialog box, expand the "Options" section and make sure that the "Include" options are set to include all necessary object data.
If you're still having issues, try converting the nCloth simulation to a polygon mesh before exporting. To do this, select the nCloth shape node and choose "Modify > Convert > nCloth to Polygons" from the menu. This will convert the nCloth simulation to a polygon mesh that can be exported more easily.
If nothing else workw, you may need to use a different export format or tool that is better suited for exporting nCloth simulations. This is out of my expertise though, I don't know a lot of other formats.
You're probably just missing some tiny detail of some step. Keep trying!
