FDS Layer Manager affecting Inventor Drawing

FDS Layer Manager affecting Inventor Drawing

Hi all,

the Layer Manager in Inventor FDSU is a great thing, but not really useful if you are creating Drawings of the layout. Because everything you do with Layers in 3D is irrelevant in the Inventor IDW.

Great things would be:

- All we got now

- Line Types for IDW

- Line Color for IDW

- Line Thickness for IDW

- Transparent in IDW or not

- Link between Assets which are marked as reference and Layer Manager, so they will use the Layer "Reference" automatically

Kind regards.

I use the 2D Inventor dwg, I think there is a possibilty to change layers, colors and line thickness. But it is not associated with the 3D model.

Right now one can make a selection in the model browser of the DWG. Then 'select egdes', and then change the layer.

In my opinion this could be done by adding a column to the layer manager 'Apply color to 2D'. Or have a similar layer manager in the 2D drawing...

I take the Revit model in Inventor and my installation drawings are now in Inventor. There is the layer issue (I like to use colors to see different production lines) and the asset text who is important for the name of the assets. I like to do my drawings in Inventor and not in AutoCAD.

Thanks and regards

Hello!

I created this workaround to colorful idw, only colorful without line configurations:

Colorful idw
