You can try to create a vault project and add a library folder to it. Map the project folder and library folder to the vault. When you publish asset, publish it to the library folder. Then open the published asset file, check it in. The related file will be check in. For the 2D asset file, you may need to manual check it into the correct folder in vault.
When you republish the asset to replace the old asset, it will remind you to check it out. Please remember to check it into vault again with DWF file.
