Rendering 3D CAD layouts imported to inventor

Hello there,

I've got a problem concerning rendering in Inventor 2017 or Showcase 2017. I imported a 3D layout from AutoCAD Architecture 2017 to Inventor, so far so good, the walls and columns look the same way that in AutoCAD as seen in the next image.

                                                    inventor cad layout.PNG

I've been rendering pictures in Navisworks 2017 without a problem, there the walls look solid and rendering is easy, animations not so much so I tried to render it in showcase or inventor studio but neither of the programs will render the walls, both just eliminate the CAD layout and render the assets imported in Inventor.

Is there a way to make the walls solid in order to be able to render the complete layout in inventor or showcase? or am I missing something?

Thanks for your help!

Best Regards,

Sebastian.

Hi there,

That is the limitation so far.The CAD model cannot be rendered directly in Inventor or showcase.
The workaround is that you can export the ACA buildings model as 3D solids by using ConvertTo3DSolids command. And then import the solids model into Inventor.

Thanks,
