Extreme File Size Increase in Asset (bug?)

Hello, 

I have been working on creating assets in inventor, working in one part file not assemblies.

It has now happened for a couple of assets, that all of a sudden the file size increases drastically(Ex 3Mb to 7Mb, 5/6 mb up to 25mb), up to a point where it slows down all actions regarding the asset.

This is the exact same behavior, the size barely goes down when all features are deleted.

The solution in the previous post was that the file was corrupt. 

However we have now had at least three different assets, that were all done from scratch, where this has happened. With each new asset we have been more careful about what features are added to the next one, but we cannot find a pattern or reason for why this is happening or what could be corrupting the files

Are there any new reports about this or what is possible to do to fix or prevent this?

What Inventor version are you talking about?  What updates have you applied to it?

When you say assets are you talking factory design assets or making stuff for your Inventor library or Content Center?

I am using Inventor Professional 2019, I don't think any updates have been applied to it.

I am talking about creating new factory design assets, which we store in our company library that is available in the layout environment.

This looks to be a defect in Inventor.  The development team is looking into it.  No workaround at this time 😞

Hi again,

I just wanted to check if there were any updates  from the development team regarding this defect? 
I have noticed and heard from other colleagues  that a similar problem is also happening in the assembly/layout environment

This defect seems to be in Inventor itself, and may not be specific to FDU. I've asked for an update, and will communicate here one I hear something

Looks like a fix for this should be included in the next Inventor update (2020.2).
Unfortunately the fix will only apply “going forward” – existing bloated part files will stay as they are 😞
