Pattern override

Pattern override

Is there a way to modify a single pattern for a part? The reason is; If we wanted to add a drip leg, or an extra bend on one side of the duct. It would be nice to have the abliity to edit the part in the flat. Maybe some more draw tools available in this dialog. See attached image.

You should be able to acomplish this currently by creating some derivitive connector/seams and making special notch configurations for them.

The are some times we would like to do 'one off' changes to a pattern. These changes do not need to be in the database. It will likely never get used again. It would be nice if we could make a change at the pattern level, and those changes would only be in that one piece of duct.

Maybe some draw tools, apply a bend. That type of stuff.

I assume you are not working in CAMDuct, as this can be acccomplished there by using Opus via "Edit Developments"

That is a correct assumption. It's the next thing on my list though. So that is the answer... buy another module of the software.

There's no access to the notching configuration from CAD.  However it is accessible from EST if you happen to have thet.

Typically, most folks who are interested in the notching are also fabricating so they assume they're using CAMduct.

If it's a short term need (set it and be done), you could always download the 30-day trial of EST or CAM and point that to your database configuration and make the needed changes.    It'll expire in a month but if typically once you get the notching dialed in, you don't mess with it very often .
