hi

I am having issues with creating NC code. i created a part using Opus, the part development is working fine. the geometry looks good but when i go to write the NC Code for it, that's when things go nuts. this happens with square to rounds also. see video for step by step. Any Thoughts?view NC.PNG

Looking at the NC created I dont see any kerf left or right directives, so that suggests you have your machine database NC Settings configured to "Apply Kerf" compensation which will be using the kerf values you have told it in the tool settings, it could be they are too big for those very small notches.

Alternatively you could have "Simplify Islands" enabled, again in Installed Machine NC Settings and the settings are too rough.

I think this is a reasonable explanation for this problem. Looking at the NC file, it is definitely about your tool which can't be moved along those curve lines which needed to be cut.

Hope you try as Andy suggestion and give us feedback.

Cheers,

so the problem was in the machine Editor, under the controller tab, Decimal Places NC was changed from 1 to 3. this was changed and now the NC has the correct geometry.

thanks everyone for the input
