Can students use their AutoCAD Education licenses on County Council machines for education purposes while they are doing their apprenticeship?

NO .. they can't use anything for commerical work.

Also, it would WATERMARK a file if they use a student version and mix it with commercial

It's stopped, but could come back:

Hi Mike,
I looked again at your reply and I realized that my initial question may not have been very clear.

I can understand why Education licenses cannot be used for commercial purposes, no problem there, but can an Autodesk application be installed on one of the SCC machines, licensed with an Education license, and used by the student exclusively for education purposes? Does this breach the license agreement? Could you please clarify this matter?

Thanks in advance

No I would not do this

Keep the edu license away from the county computers

You can install both commercial and educational on the same machine. YES, but I would NEVER recommend it. This is how mishaps happen. I see it all the time.

Keep them separate like Darren and I both recommend.  Not worth the risk

Is there a rationale for this? Does this breach any way the Education license agreement?

I Am asking because the student is the only user on the machine, so there is no risk for someone else to use it. Moreover, I assume when the student graduates, the license will be withdrawn and reused anyway.

yes if Autodesk does an Audit of your licenses & they find you have a edu license they will send you a bill

the student needs to use their own personal machine or you need to provide this student one of your commercial licenses for this apprenticeship

Where are the files the student is working on?

What happens if they "Accidently" get into a commmercial file?

It's just not worth it.  We've both seen this happen MANY times.
