Make Workshop XR a part of the free Educators platform

I teach at The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Indiana Corridor. I am tasked with teaching a machine shop class as an after-school program. I have already uploaded a 3D model of our school machine shop into the trial version of Workshop XR. I have had to learn to navigate my 3D model through multiple AD platforms to upload to Workshop XR. I am extremely grateful to have free access to Autodesk's many platforms. The barrier of the paid version of Workshop XR, creates a bottleneck to expanding the creative potential for utilizing Autodesk's platform which has the opportunity to develop a revolutionary immersive educational experience.

Hi @eunwin35C75,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Thank you for sharing your interest on WorkshopXR and request to have this product added to the Autodesk Education Plan. Unfortunately, I don't have any timeline for when WorkshopXR will be available to education users but I can see there is an appetite for it, so I'm forwarding these posts to our Education Team to let them know.

I understand this probably isn't the new you were hoping for but if I receive any updates, I'll let you know.

All the best,

LeoWarran,

Thank you for responding so quickly. This space is entirely new to me, the
AD platform. I have spent a number of hours trying to figure out how to
utilize the many create platforms that are available. Truthfully, it's
really neat as a novice user, to take the emersive educational idea that I
have and navigate it through such a sophisticated program. I have a vision
of what I want to build, but I'm still pioneering the pathway of
discovery. What I mean is. I know what I want, but I still have to learn
how to get, my idea is evolving as become aware of how technology works. I
recently learned that I can embed a QR code into the RVT fil. So from my
understanding, I can place information about a the different functions of a
shop machine and a student who is in the virtual shop in Workshop XR can
select the QR code and the information is there. With this option, I can
see a Frontier of that can revolutionize our educational space. AutoDesk
has given me the tools, I'm going to shape this out the best of my ability,
would you consider partnering with me. The vision that I have goes way
beyond what I just mentioned. I am only approaching the starting line. I
am not blowing smoke, I would love to share what I am working on with you.

In hopes of partnering a future together with you,
Eric

Hi @eunwin35C75<

Unfortunately, I've not heard anything from the Education team regarding WorkshopXR. If you're looking to show off any of your work, I can recommend the Community Gallery, which would be a great place to show off your models and ideas.

Hi LeoWarren,

I have a question regarding the capabilities of Workshop XR. Can you direct me to someone who can let me know if a QR code that has been generated in Fusion 360 can be viewed in Workshop XR? I have uploaded the file from Inventor, converted to a RVT.

Hi @eunwin35C75,

I've asked your question internally and I'm currently awaiting a response as we don't currently have a WorkshopXR Community.

I hope this helps,

Hi @eunwin35C75,

The Workshop XR Team got back to me - How are you creating the QR Code? Did you use this Fusion addin? I've been informed that if the QR code is a 3D object, it should appear but it might not render fully until your up close and looking at.
