How to Renew Access for Education Licenses

The time is coming up where many of you will need to renew your access to the Education licenses - so here's how to do it!

Your access to the Education plan will expire at the end of one-year. You can renew your access annually as long as you are eligible.

Thirty days before the expiration of your one-year Education plan access, you'll be sent an email reminder. You can also find your expiration date in the personalized banner notification when you sign in to your account on the Autodesk Education Community website.

If you do not renew your access, your free access will end when your Education plan expires. If you have files stored in Drive, you can continue to access them, but you will not be able to edit them or upload new files.

Note: Documents stored in Autodesk cloud service remain available for 30 days after your Education plan access expires. Be sure to retrieve any files stored in Autodesk cloud service before the end of this period.

To renew access:

  1. Make sure you are still eligible for educational access by reviewing who is eligible.
  2. On the Autodesk Education Community website, sign in to your account.
  3. Click Renew Now in the personalized banner notification.
  4. Once you confirm your eligibility, your access will be automatically extended for another year. Any product subscriptions that you hold will also be automatically extended for another year.

To restart access:

If your access has already expired and you are still eligible, you can restart your educational access.

  1. On the Autodesk Education Community website, sign in to your account.
  2. Click Restart Access in the personalized banner notification.
  3. Once you confirm your eligibility, your access will be automatically extended for another year.

Once you've renewed or restarted access, there's no need to download a new version of your installed software unless you want the latest version.

Hello, I can't find that banner of renewing in my account, but I'm eligible to use autodesk products. How can I find it? And the problem is, when I open autocad and try to activate my licence, it shows that my serial number is not valid.

Hi @Anonymous,

Make sure to sign-in on the education page using the Sign In button underneath get started (see image below)edu sign.PNG

You should then see a banner with your name either showing you your expiry date or the option to verify.

You can see your licenses at https://manage.autodesk.com/ under products and services. Most licenses are sign in now, so you just use your AutodeskID to Activate.

Hi @assist_cdtx and @Anonymous  - It sounds like you are both not getting fully signed in. Can you follow the exact flow below and let me know how it goes?

1) Navigate to Student and Education Software | 1-Year License | Autodesk Education Community. (if it's not showing up, that's a hyperlink. Simply click it to go to the page). It should look like this, with the option to sign in with two options:

Step1EDUSignIn.png

2) Check out the two places you could sign in below. For the sake of this test, let's have you sign in using the first upper right hand side option first. You can see that in this screenshot, I have signed in successfully on one of the sides (where you can see "TU" in the upper right hand corner), but I still need to sign in again (in the remaining box). Once your screen looks like mine (with different initials of course) go ahead and "Sign In" to that 2nd option.

Step2EDU SignIn.png

3) Once you are signed into BOTH you should see the banner that we are talking about, showing your Educational access renewal date.

Step3EduSignIn.png

You only need to renew the verification if you are within 30 days of expiry. Can you both try this and let me know what you see? Feel free to attach screenshots as I have, sometimes a picture speaks a thousand words. 🙂

But when I look my products and services (screenshot 2) I can see my licenses but no way to prolongate them... Even if it's a permanent education license

What did I do wrong ?

Regards

Hello, there's no problem with renewing anymore, in my account it shows that my educational access is valit through august 2022, but when I download and install autocad, I sign in to autocad and it still doesn't know that I have licence and everytime it wants something from me. I tried to sign in with my autodesk ID but there's still some banner and when I click on already have a licence? it brings be back again and again to this banner. I activated trial for 30 days because my licence expires a few days ago because I couldn't find how to start use autocad with my educational licence. Thank you for the reply.

Hi @Anonymous,

Go to https://manage.autodesk.com/ -> Products and Services

Do you see AutoCAD listed?

If you do, can you share a screenshot? (Please blur any personal info)

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please visit the Get Products page and click "Get product" -> "Download" for AutoCAD?

Even though you already have AutoCAD installed, this will ensure that your education entitlement is properly activated.

You don't need to complete the download or reinstall, but after you click the "Download" button, could you then please try signing in to AutoCAD again to see if your entitlement is activated?

Gabe

Gracias

Hi @alejosver,

A trial is different to an educational license. When the trial ends, unless you have a license, your access to the software also ends.

You can see all of your licenses at https://manage.autodesk.com/ -> Products and Services

You can request (add) product licenses to your account by signing in at https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview by selecting 'Get Product'

My son has done this and it says it is valid for another year but the application itself says 0 days remaining and on the account page it flags up with -2 days. Are we doing something wrong?

Hi @kalos53,

What product is your son trying to use? Please make sure he also visits the Get Products page and clicks "Get Product" -> "DOWNLOAD" (or "ACCESS" in the case of Fusion 360). This step is also required in order to activate the educational entitlement to the software.

Does that help?
