Is it permissible for students who already have the autocad student version since they are already enrolled in a university. Is it permissible to use this license for learning & practicing from a different source like for ex the Internet(Udemy)??

Hi @Anonymous,

Looking at the terms: Free Autodesk software and/or cloud-based services are subject to acceptance of and compliance with the terms of use or other applicable terms that accompany such software or cloud-based services. Software and cloud-based services subject to an Educational license may be used solely for Educational Purposes and shall not be used for commercial, professional or any other for-profit purposes.

I am not a lawyer but the main aspect is that Commercial and Professional use is forbidden within the terms of the EULA.

I mean to use the educational license for educational purpose like learn through the internet(I.e Udemy). Not to use it for any commercial use.

Is Udemy an approved educational institution registered with Autodesk? That's a pre-requisite.

Hi Folks-

Thanks for asking. As long as a student is enrolled in a qualified educational institution and wants to supplement that learning with a Udemy course by using the software for educational purposes, that's permissible.

You can learn more here:

Who is eligible for the Education plan?

Someone who is not a student or faculty—for example, someone who works in an organization that uses Autodesk software for commercial purposes—and wants to expand knowledge through a Udemy or other online or in-person continuing education course—would not qualify for educational eligibility.

Hope this helps clarify!

Hi,

Say someone is only enrolled in a Udemy course for Maya and is not in school anywhere else...would that still be ok to use the one-year Autodesk education access?

Hi @Anonymous,

Udemy is not an accredited academic institution so they would not be eligible for educational access.

Hi @martf11684RAE,

Udemy isn't an accredited institution and therefore is not eligible for the Autodesk Education Plan.
