Using Notepad++ with Eagle ULPs

Anonymous

I was watching a video webinar by Jorge Garcia that aired on May 17, 2016, where he recommended using Notepad++ to write ULPs.  In order for Notepad++ to function with highlighting, ect. you need to add a file called:

notepad++_userdefinedlang_ulp.zip

This file was on the old CadsoftUSA website, but it does not seem to be available on the new Autodesk website or anywhere else that I have looked.,

Is this file still around for download, and where might I find it?  Thanks,  Bill

Hi Bill,
All of the download links out there seem to be dead. When I get back on my other computer tomorrow I will upload it If Jorge or someone doesn't post it first.
In the meantime the C language setting gets close, it just doesn't highlight the Eagle specific keywords.

Best Regards,
Cameron

Hi Bill,

Here is the notepad++ language definition file for ulps. The readme includes instructions for importing into notepad++ as well as setting the editor as the default editor in Eagle.

Best Regards,
Cameron

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that Cameron has already uploaded the Notepad++ Language file, thanks @C.Nicks. Notepad++ is windows only software(it does run under WINE), so I also a def file for the Geany text editor, I have uploaded it here that way both language files are available on the Autodesk forums.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Is a language bundle available for Textmate or a mode for Emacs?

Thanks

Hi @john4BE9V,

I hope you're doing well. There isn't, at least we never made one. The Notepad++ one was made by a user and then I updated it. The geany one I made during the time that it was my main text editor.

They were just little projects that we done in between other work.

If you look at them you'll see that they are pretty simple files and it's likely it wouldn't be too hard to make language bundles for Textmate and Emacs.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
