Stuck in Offline Mode (Support and Learning not Fixing)

System Info:

  • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro; Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044
  • Manufacturer Dell Inc.; Model XPS 17 9710
  • x64-based PC
  • Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz, 2304 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)

Eagle Info:

  • Version 9.6.2
  • Current Licensing: EAGLE Premium License For Commercial Use

I'm operating on my assigned work computer and I've downloaded the latest installation version from the Autodesk Eagle Downloads. For my initial problem I went through this guide: Eagle crashes seconds after launching splash screen

Changes Made: in C://EAGLE 9.6.2 I changed 'libeay32.dll' to 'libeay32.dll.bak' which allowed me to get past the splash screen crash issue.

I'm experiencing the application staying in OFFLINE mode after startup and I can't click any options on the User Profile dropdown menu (with the exception of License Information). The option "Go Online" is in normal font color but "Sign Out" is in grey. Both options do nothing when clicked. To try and resolve this issue I followed the guide: Autodesk EAGLE can't go online after signing in.html . I've tried the first solution using Win64 OpenSSL v1.1.1i Light , to no avail. I can't use the other option because it is blocked by my IT department from download (I would prefer to stay away from this option if at all possible).

Are there any other options I can try? Something is broken, but I can't quite figure out what exactly.

^bumping for visibility.

I'm also curious if this error could be tied to some odd behavior I'm seeing. Such as attribute text fields not populating in board design view when the library footprint has that field set to >ATTRIBUTE[whatever the attribute name is] and the attribute exists in the device attribute list.

Accepted solution

[Solved]

Eventually reached out to ECAD support and a tech assisted with fixing the issue. Ultimately, replacing the DLL files did the trick. The Total Commander solution could fix it, but since I'm on a company owned machine I didn't want to mess with that option myself. The tech performed the DLL replacement from an openSSL zip file so I'm assuming it is the same process as with Total Commander.

Hopefully this helps someone else!
