How to verify connector pinning of different PCBs (connected to each other)

Hi everybody,

in almost each of my projects I've got the situation that I've to connect different PCBs to each other.

My first attemption to do this was to compare each pin of both connectors and try to verify it manually. But I think everyone can agree that this cannot be an engineering-way. 😉

Therefor in the next step I've exportet an <Pinmap> of both schematics to compare them with an text editor diff tool. But in my point of view that is a bit too labour-intensive as well.

So I try to find a way - or even the best way - to speed up that task.

Is there a function or does somebody knows a script which is able to compare the

  • connected <NET-Names>
  • of each pin connected to connector <X1>
  • in schemtic <example_1.sch>

with

  • connector <X1>
  • of schematic <emample_2.sch>

? I've also create both schematics in the same project but I can't find a solid way.

Thanks and best regards!

Nick
