I am using Eagle v5.11. However, i am confused about how to set alternative Default Line width and Drill Size.

Currently, i need to set my default Line width, Drill Data (In the red Circle at the Graph Below) once when opening any Eagle PCB File.

I am urgently need to use Eagle. I would be thankful if anyone can help me.

Hello @10679488g,

I hope you're doing well. You can define the values in the DRILL, Width, and Diameter menus using the SET command.

To get all the details type HELP SET and press enter in the command line.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Best Regards,

Hi @10679488g,

I hope you're doing well. Place those commands inside of the eagle.scr file that is under your scripts tree in the control panel. That file runs every time you make a new design so it is the ideal place to setup your defaults.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

Hello @10679488g,

Could you elaborate on what you tried? If you can share the contents of your eagle.scr file that would help greatly.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.

In EAGLE v5.11, just type in the command line:

  • CHANGE WIDTH 0.016 → sets new default line width

  • CHANGE DRILL 0.6mm → sets new default drill size

That’s it — all new traces and vias will follow these defaults. For an adventure break outside of PCB work, check out Dubai Desert Ride.
