Eagle Step export contains footprints of parts only

Hi,

bloody Eagle beginner here, please bear with me.

I am using Eagle for PCB design, but another program (i.e., not fusion) for CAD.

I want to export the board with all components as step file to include it into a bigger CAD model.

The EAGLE step export works in principle, however, almost all components (capacitors, coils etc) will be represented by a flat rectangle of the size of the footprint, but not be their actual 3D model. All parts were included to EAGLE from the Mouser website via library loader and the so created library contains a CAD model for each part.

Does anyone know how to fix that problem? It is very tedious to manually place all the components in my CAD program.

Thank you.

Hello @florian.bayerHX5XW ,

I hope you're doing well. It sounds like something wasn't done correctly with the library loader. Did you make the library managed? That's the only way the step export is going to be able to include the models.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
