Hello, I am trying to create a Gerber file and i am using eagle's 4 layer cam file. But as you can see in the following picture i don't have layer 15 , i have layer 3. Should i select layer 3 ( which is GND in my design) . Would this all i have to change? would this work? Or I need to edit the cam file to get the layer sorted out? ( which I am not sure how to do that)
Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous ,
In this case, all you have to do is select layer 3 in that tab of the cam processor. In the future, you should always define your layers from the outside surfaces towards the middle since this is how they are built. So instead of 1,2,3 and 16 you should use 1,2,15, and 16. All of the default CAM jobs are setup that way, so in the future you won't even have to think about it.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Best Regards,
Thank you for that @jorge_garcia .
Same goes for 6 or 8 layer board? (How do I make a cam file for board that has 8 layers or more ). Would it be just modifying the current cam file to include those layers?
Thanks.
Hi @Anonymous ,
I hope you're doing well. That's correct you would create additional sections in the cam job, if you are using a later version of EAGLE (9.x series) we ship with template files for multilayer boards. For a 6 layer board you would use 1,2,3,14,15, and 16. For an 8 layer board you would use 1,2,3,4,13,14,15, and 16 always from the outside surfaces toward the middle.
Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
Best Regards,
